AirCraft Spotter's Little Assistant

The Aircraft Spotter's Little Assistant

Welcome to The Aircraft Spotter's Little Assistant (ALSA).

ALSA is a program for the aircraft spotter and other aviation enthusiasts.

ASLA has been produced to fill a gap. PlanePlotter is a great progam for identifying aircraft in the sky, but it difficult to record of what you have seen. Basestation.sqb (BS) is a useful little database of current aircraft, but without a full aircraft database to maintain it, it is difficult to retain your changes.

ASLA goes some way to achieve these limitations. It lets the user:

  • Enter Interested and User Notes in BS
    • From PlanePlotter lead sightings  (Interested only)
    • From direct sightings
  • Keep a seperate listing of sightings
  • Update a new BS file with previously entered information
  • Query  BS with wild card searches
    • Mode S code
    • Registration
    • ICAO Type code
    • Operator
    • User Notes

For more information see the About page. To download the latest version of ALSA go to the Beta Test page. For a discussion on various related topics see the Forum Page. To contact the author go to the Contact page.

This software requires Microsoft Windows 7 or later with the .Net Framework. It also requires a basestation.sqb database (BS) designed by Kinetic Aviation Products Ltd and, for full functionality, Planeplotter (PP) from COAA. Planeplotter must be linked to the same database as ASLA for all of the functions to perform in a reasonable way! All trademarks acknowledged
